Who We Are
Jim launched his firm in November 2014 after nearly twenty years with Gold, Leins and Adoff LLP. Our clients are individuals, estate fiduciaries, trustees, and small business owners. We also work with other CPAs, financial advisors, paralegals, and estate attorneys in a team approach.

Our continued focus is on timely and professional service, as well as communication and transparency both with our clients and within our office.


James Magno, CPA

Jim has thirty years of experience in public accounting, twenty of which with a concentration in estate related tax preparation and estate administrative assistance.
Jim graduated from University of Maryland with a BS in Accounting and later on obtained a Masters of Taxation from University of Baltimore. He has also received certificates of completion for Trust Tax I and Trust Tax II from Cannon Trust School.

Jim is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tax and PFS divisions), MACPA (Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants), MSATP (Maryland Society of Accounting & Tax Professionals), APCPA (Association of Practicing Certified Public Accountants), and the NCACPA (North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants).

Bernard McGuire, Jr., CPA
​
Bernard supervises and manages a staff that provides client services in the area of taxation, accounting, deferred compensation, payroll accounting software, and management services. He works mostly with small businesses that are self-employed individuals, and personal service corporations. These services are provided to physicians, attorneys, architects, and financial partners, as well as retail and wholesale operations.
Additional areas of expertise are providing compliance services including preparation of payroll, personal property, pension, corporate, partnership and individual tax returns. He is well versed in QuickBooks and prepares compiled financial statements on an interim or annual basis.
Bernard graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University with a BS in Accounting.

Bernard is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), MACPA (Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants), APCPA (Association of Practicing Certified Public Accountants), and the GWSCPA (Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants). He also serves as Treasurer to the Knights of Columbus, Council #2323.

Kristin Flores, CPA
​
Kristin is devoted to the pursuit of life-long learning. She loves her job and her career field. Kristin’s devotion to consistently doing a great job makes her a valuable asset to the James Magno CPA team.
​
During her 15-year career in public accounting, she has served clients in multiple industries, with a focus on tax consulting. She specializes in taxation for closely-held businesses and individuals. She also manages federal and state tax examinations and settlement of tax controversy matters for her clients.
Kristin graduated Baruch College with a BBA in Accounting and a MS in Taxation.

Kristin is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), and MACPA (Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants).
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, paddleboarding, crabbing and spending time with her family and dogs.
